AEMET have issued a yellow weather warning for a hot spell of weather in Gran Canaria as temperatures of 34ºC degrees are expected on the island. So far the warning is from Monday 11th at 11:00h until at least 19:00h Tuesday evening when the warning spreads to the rest of the Canary Islands. The temperatures have been climbing in the last couple of days and it's very easy to get burnt, with a very high UV index of 11. The heatwave is going to affect the south, west, east and the mountain peaks where there is a risk of forest fires. Please do not do any grilling if visiting the mountains!
